About Us

Cliftonville are one of the oldest clubs in the Northern Cricket Union.  Originally based on the Cliftonville Road until the early 1970s the Club has been based at various grounds in the North Belfast and Newtownabbey area. Through that we have forged links with the local community  and schools. We are currently based at Belfast City Council playing fields at Mallusk.

We have two senior teams who play on Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting). Our senior players train two nights a week during the summer at Ulster University, Jordanstown. Details of our training programme for the 2017 season will appear on the site shortly. We also pride ourselves on developing junior cricketers. We have developed four Irish cricketers in the last twenty years, namely, Mark Patterson, Andrew Patterson, Kyle McCallan and Paul Stirling.

We retain a Cricket Development Officer to work with the local schools and community. Last year we coached in Whiteabbey Primary School, St MacNissi’s Primary School and Belfast High School to name but a few. This year in partnership with the University of Ulster we are intending to expand our youth programme and details of the programmes will appear on the web site.
