A Message From Our President

Following the successful merger of both Cliftonville Cricket Club and Academy Cricket Club, on the 27th November 2017, it is an honour and privilege to have been appointed as the First President of Cliftonville Academy Cricket Club.

Both Cliftonville and Academy have a history that should never be forgotten and we the current generation of administrators and players owe it to past members to make our new club strong and vibrant as we face the challenges ahead.

The merger will enable us to field four senior teams in various leagues, catering to all abilities, a mid-week eleven and an expanding junior section.

The hard work starts now, pre-season practice will commence in February, Junior coaching may require volunteers at various stages throughout the season, a dinner to celebrate the new club is planned for April and fundraising events will take place throughout the season alongside our major world cup event in June/July.

We will be announcing our new club sponsors shortly for what promises to be an exciting year ahead.

Finally as we approach our first season, I would like to wish all our committee, our captains (Andrew Magee, Frazer McFadden, Darryl Martin, Ian Latham and Andrew McCormick), players and supporters a successful and enjoyable summer.

Play hard, play fair, show commitment, don’t underestimate your own ability and have a fantastic season.

David Greenlees
